NOT ENOUGH - John Johnson
ENOUGH!!!
Excess but not Enough
Excess but not Enough
Excess…
Still not Enough
Hot and Cold aligned
Fame and wealth combined
All the light of the brightest Sunshine
All the gold in the World’s biggest goldmine
Beauty, Pleasure, Desire, if all were mine
If I could drink long life like wine
If I could draw a fine line that no one could undermine
I will still lack something
I cannot command the sea and the Mountain
I cannot turn salt into Sugar
I cannot stop sudden disaster
Truly! Even in poverty, we cannot have nothing
Yet in Riches, we will still lack something
It is the Paradox of Life
The Epiphany of death
The Peace after Strife
A dying man’s last breath
If I was more powerful than Okomfo Anokye
If I was braver than Yaa Asantewaa
If I could stop the Sun from Scorching
If I could summon the whole Asante Empire in an Hour
I will still be unable to count the stars and number the Sea Shells
I will still be unable to copy Wodini to escape and return from Seychelles
No one has nothing
Yet everyone lacks something
It is the Paradox of Life
The Epiphany of death
The Peace after Strife
A new born baby’s first breath
See, the Strongest man may not be the wisest
In quick thinking, the wisest may be outwit by the fastest
The shortest man in his own house may have to stretch at some point
Yet the tallest man will also have to bow to enter that same joint
So if you want a Superhero
Or you are searching for a Superman
If you ask me to count my answer is Zero
Because a perfect man is a man not conceived by another man
So don’t fall in love just for the sake of love
Find someone who sees you as Enough
Because perfection is found in contentment
Loving what you have and seeing it as Enough
Because whether by chance or luck
Light or dark
Dope or wack
White or Black
There is something we all lack
And we are only here because God has our back
